Thanks for my authorship back Oh Mighty Mods.
Mission statements:
1. Always strive to become the strongest version of yourself, be that mental, physical, or emotional strength.
2. Opinions and the right to have differing opinions are the single greatest things in our world today. I may dislike yours and you may hate mine, but I love that we can have completely opposite opinions. Because that is what makes this country (USA! USA! USA!) great.
I'm on a burner, for personal reasons. Still polishing hope to turn my Disco into a serious over-lander and that I will one day be able to buy my wife the Audi Allroad she wants, so that I can buy an E39 M5. I will be posting Cars and Coffee from Nashville, vehemently hating stance-ing while preserving your right to do it, and shouting my opinions about America, Freedom, personal liberty, and Formula 1.
My automotive loves for your viewing pleasure:
The Monte Carlo Blue on is mine
The gray one was a mechanic that my boss used when I sold cars for him last year in Memphis. I tried to buy it, but did not have the money at the time. All things happen for a reason though, so the mission continues to turn Jazzie (my rig) into a similar build.
This is beautiful, I hope you lot like it.
This is what I want to own and drive until the day I die.
Bad ass monster truck Discovery 2
Let's have fun and inspire weirdness, freedom to be weird, car culture of all varieties, shaming of inconsiderate people.

Welcome back. Good call on the overlanding itch, how do you like working on your disco?

I love/hate it, but thanks to the very deep forums I learn how to all kinds of stuff, and have the confidence to do it without fear of breaking the bank or rig.

All I have done personally, is remove the ACE pump, ACE hydraulic lines, ACE rear bypass hydraulic delivery, rear air ride, air ride compressor, and removed the cracked front bumper and damaged plastic wheel well guards and plastic engine undertray. On the to-do's: oil pan gasket, head gasket, rebuild crank, rebuild head, snorkel, exhaust (no inspection = no mufflers, no cats, no sensors), lift (want to go 3" on Terrafirma HD springs and add 1.5" spring spacers, install new brakelines, repair interior broken plastic, repair rear sunroof, byu and install recovery front and rear bumpers. I hope to have all of this done by this time next year.

I have a lumpy idle and seemingly an off time cam with a bit of a knock, I attribute it to my O2 sensors being soaked in hydraulic fluid and coolant when my throttle coolant overflow bypass seal blew. I have since removed the leaky malfunctioning ACE and removed the coolant bypass and routed it directly back into the head.

my idle is lumpy on 85 and smooths out with 91 (87/93 for you flat landers) and it knocks pretty bad on 85 when its hot. I hope its not my o2 sensors, but I know at least one is new so...

Best of luck, you just reminded me that I need to convert my Rotoflex rear drive shaft to U-joint, and replace my tie rod ends, remove the front and rear ACE ram shocks, install new steering damper, and replace my drag link.

I very nearly bought a yellow/black hood Disco a few years back when I was hunting for a vehicle. Test drove it, but the dealer wouldn't budge the last $600 I needed him to move off the price. At the time I was looking at Discos and FJ80s, and due to spousal input, ended up in an XC70. Someday...

That was an XD, you should have bought it. In some circles that a collector's item.

I should have. I was playing hardball though and wanted it at $6k, included TTL. They wouldn't budge off the $6600. It had 96k on it, mileage wise. Clean vehicle overall. I had the $6k in cash with me, and they didn't flinch. Oh well.

Wow, where was this dealer? I think I could totally have f*cked him out of the car.

Denver. Mind you, this was also in 2007. They originally wanted $7500 + TTL. Got down to $6600 with TTL inc. They were actually a consignment shop and that's as low as the owner would go. Or so they said.

How's this for memory, very specifically, it was the week of March 20th, 2007. Strangely, I remember purchasing my XC on March 20th, so it was a few days before that. After looking at the Disco, I went and checked out a '94 Land Cruiser that was way too rough for the asking price that negotiating would have been offensive to the owner.
I have a feeling that my current project Miata may get replaced by an offroad worthy vehicle in the next year or so.

That's awesome are you by chance in the south? There are a couple sweet off road facilities near Nashville that co-worker told me about.

I'm not. I'm still in Colorado, although I visit the in-laws in North Carolina fairly often. Being from the east, I'm used to more "muddin" for my offroading. Here in CO, it's definitely more crawling, as there aren't very many muddy areas here. My last capable vehicle was a '69 Bronco with 35s and a 351W that I routinely drove without doors or the top. Granted, it was also one good bump from disintegrating. Evils amounts of rust! Sold it 14 years ago.

HA nice, surprisingly I have zero rust on my ole girl, lots of cracked and disintegrating plastic but no rust.
